InterLibrary Loan

Request articles and books from another library

What is InterLibrary Loan (ILL)?

InterLibrary Loan (ILL) is the name we use for borrowing items we do not own from another library. Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery.

How to make an ILL request

Start with searching our catalog to see if we own the item you need.

If we don't own the book you are looking for there are two ways you can request it.

Does it cost to use ILL?

Students- Free

Faculty and Staff- If there is no charge by the lending library, Chowan will continue to provide Faculty and Staff materials for free. However, if there is a charge from the other library Faculty and Staff will be asked to pay the lending fee.

Request an Item Directly from the Catalog

If we do not own an item in the catalog, then there is a "Request Item" button on the far right hand side of the screen. Click that button to fill out the ILL request form.
